Colegio Colombo Britanico
Colegio Colombo Britanico is a private, non-profit-making,
co-educational day school which provides a bilingual education for
about 1,100 students aged from 2-18. There are four sections, Jardin,
Infants, Primary and Bachillerato (senior), each with its own Head,
situated together on the same spacious campus in the attractive
rural outskirts of the city of Cali, and close to the spectacular
foothills of the western cordillera of the Andes. A significant
proportion of the teachers are fully bilingual and about 30% are
native English speakers (mostly British). The overall staff to pupil
ratio is 1:10.
The school was the first in Colombia, and the second in South America,
to adopt the IB and all students in grade 11 now enter for the Diploma
or Certificate programme. The IGCSE was introduced some years ago.
Students also graduate very successfully with the Colombian diploma.
The school enjoys a deserved reputation for sporting and extra-curricular
excellence, community service, and for its programme of personal
and social education.
